Hey Rift Realms adventurers!

Another week has passed in our quest to bring you Season 3: The Fractured Kingdoms, and we're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! (Don't worry, it's not a train or a hungry enderman—we're pretty sure it's actual progress.)

This Week's Victories

We've made some significant breakthroughs since our last update:

  • World Generation Preview is ready to share! We've attached some screenshots below that show off the stunning landscapes you'll be exploring soon. Our custom terrain generation mod has finally stopped turning rivers into lava flows, and those mountain ranges are looking magnificent. Those biomes didn't configure themselves... well, technically they did once we set up the custom datapacks, but let's call it a team effort between us and Minecraft's generation algorithm.

  • The Third-Party Magic Mod Implementation is in the works

Timeline Check-In

Look, we're not going to commit to a specific date yet (we've learned our lesson), but we're making real progress! The testing phase for the core systems will begin within the next two weeks, and we'll be inviting select community members to help us break things—er, we mean test things—soon after.

Next Steps

Over the coming week, we'll be focusing on:

  • Recording proper sound effects for the new creatures
  • Beginning the closed beta testing phase for our most dedicated community members

Closing Thoughts

We know we've been saying "soon" for what feels like forever, but this time we really mean it's getting close! The foundation is solid, the major systems are working, and all that's left is the figurative (and sometimes literal) polish.

Remember when we said The Fractured Kingdoms deserves our best effort? We're sticking to that promise, even when it means our lead developer falls asleep face-down on the keyboard. (Fun fact: We've decoded his keyboard imprints as ancient runes that predict the release date... or maybe just random letters. We're still investigating.)

Thank you for sticking with us through this journey. Your patience and enthusiasm fuel our coffee-powered coding sessions, and we can't wait to welcome you to The Fractured Kingdoms.

Until next week, may your pickaxes never break and your creepers always explode safely away from your builds!

P.S. We finally found the footage for that devlog video! It was in a folder called "Definitely Not Minecraft Stuff" which, in retrospect, was probably not the best filing system.
